Acquisitions built the Group. One brand now powers its next chapter.
PLG had grown faster than its brand could explain.
Twenty-six acquisitions in six years turned ProductLife Group into a global consultancy for the life sciences industry. It has its own operations in 50+ countries and reach into 150+ through its partner network. It supports clients across the full product lifecycle, from development and engineering to regulatory approval, market and patient access, safety, quality and compliance. A portfolio built by acquisition can look like a collection of parts. PLG's CEO, James Burt, wanted the brand to say clearly that it now works "as one team" with an end-to-end set of human and digital capabilities.
We started with what PLG does. Working closely with its C-suite and marketing stakeholders, we shaped a positioning: Advanced Intelligence for Life Sciences. It joins senior expertise with intelligent automation, with an expert accountable for every decision. It lets clients focus on innovating for better health while PLG handles the rest.
Then we gave that idea a form. The category leans on familiar science cues, so we avoided them. No DNA strands, no corporate clichés. Instead, a flexible system of interconnected forms and pathways, inspired by people, ideas and scientific discovery coming together. It's organic and subtly cellular, and it reflects PLG's networks of expertise and partnerships.
The logo pairs a modern wordmark with a symbol drawn from that system. An upwards arrow signals targeted drive. The typeface, Zimula Inkspot, is fluid but precise. White and navy signal authority, while vibrant blue and pink add modernity and personality. Gradients stand for progress, and they let the brand speak with one voice while adjusting its behaviour for different audiences.
PLG has a unified global brand, with a strategy, architecture, identity and behaviour framework built to bring its growing portfolio together, strengthen internal culture and cohesion, and express PLG as one integrated, scalable Group.
"Advanced Intelligence for Life Sciences is exactly what we do: senior expertise and intelligent automation working together, with an expert accountable for every decision. That’s what a complete partner for life sciences should look like today, and our new identity gives us the platform to keep growing."
James Burt, CEO, ProductLife Group
"In a category so inundated with common science cues, we were keen to avoid expected codes and conventions to differentiate the brand and solidify its position as a forerunner in the category. It’s a full, bottom-up brand transformation that feels like a huge step forward, which wouldn’t have been possible without the trust, ambition and boldness of the PLG team throughout the process."
